That's the ticket

Went to my court date this morning to contest the ticket I received for vending without a tax id. I won't know if I have to pay it until I receive something in the mail. Bah. Anyway, here is what the outlined version of duck duck duck moose looks like. I think it's cute also....but from what folks have said it seems like the other one is a good idea. I think the image might be more readable on a bag than the moose. Still open though.

Tote Votes

So I am taking the plunge and going into the tote market. I am nervous because its a lot of money...but then again buying paper is just as expensive...you just get more. So the bags I am using are a bit more expensive, but lovely and made from 100% recycled cotton...whatever that means. Now the issue is which image do I do the choices as I see them for this first run of 36 bags are 1.

And 2. which would be outlines only and maybe yellow fill on the ducks.

Toss up really. They are two of the biggest sellers. I want to do the duck moose one, but it might be more of a pain in the butt. We will see. thoughts?

Pre-loved

I have been doing things to work on my personal promotion. I know I spend a fair amount of the time making things I want to make and while that is all fine and good I need to focus on making things that might get me work.
I have been having a lot of doubts lately about my marketability and I see artists out there who are so good it makes me question myself. I found and artist this week whose work is so inspiring. She was selling stuff in the market and I took her card and told her how much I loved her work. Check out Kristiana Parn she is european of course.
Anyway, I am on a Threadless kick and I have been trying to submit work to their contests or rather I submitted a t-shirt design (mentioned a couple of posts before...go vote) and they are having a themed contest for VW on the theme of pre-loved. Below is one of the designs I am going to submit. I think I might the maximum of 3 entries if I can think of funny things. Anyway, I am pretty happy with it although I do not think it is something the people at VW would find particularly tasteful....but then again I am not particularly tasteful.

Update: this was rejected for voting because it was considered needing work. I submitted to prejudging to find out what I should do to make the illustration better. JJ thinks its not my best and I guess I agree. I have since done some other sketches for this project but they feel a bit forced. I will post them. There is something about good design that seems to happen when you are on the toilet. Its ironic really because one would assume being on the toilet you would produce crap, but not so much. In fact the idea factory awaits.

Submit to Threadless NOW

It has not been approved yet for scoring as their uploading size requirements confuse me, but once it is approved for voting please vote. Free coffee is coming your way let me just put it that way.

Smack the Snacks

Working on the art or is the art working on me? I feel like my time to get this off the ground is slipping. Or is it just the 6 month itch? Anyway, I opened and IRA (JJ did it for me) and now I am officially trapped in the loop. I guess I should open a college fund for my fictitious child.
I might just be feeling this way because I gave up cheese, corn, bread, and sugar recently so I am feeling like I have nothing to live for....except tastidlite of course.
No really, I have been having kidney pain and general feelings of alergyness and then the other night a friend made us dinner and my feet swelled and were red and hot. Yes, there was too much salt, wine consumption, cheese, and too much fried tortillas and I am still hurting (it was two days ago). I think that I am going to go get my physical and try to get a specialist referral...altho we know how this goes. They tell me there is nothing wrong with me and that I should get exercise, sleep more, drink water (i drink 3-5 32oz nalgene bottles a day), and eat healthy. I have given up for awhile, but I am back to feeling like I am in a constant state of minor anaphylaxis. Oy

Enough whining enjoy the art
